I’m a 3rd generation Oaklander, father, community leader, Oakland business owner, and entrepreneur. I love Oakland, and I’m concerned about our future.
While new businesses open up Downtown, we see storefronts boarded up in East Oakland. The cost of housing is making it impossible for many to stay in Oakland. Too many Oaklanders have to drive to other cities to work, shop, and play. And too many of our fellow citizens are living on the streets. Here in City Council District 6, we only have one bank, and we rank last in the city in employment and job growth.
We need change, but many of our neighbors have lost faith in the ability of City Hall to create that change. That’s why I’m running for City Council.
My passion for our city knows no bounds. Oakland has given so much to me, and I want to ensure all Oakland children and families regardless of ethnicity, income, or neighborhood, have the same opportunities I had – that every Oaklander has a chance to create better lives for themselves and their children.
I hope you’ll join our campaign.
