Prominent Civic and Faith Leaders, Former Council President Endorse Campaign
(Oakland, CA) – Today, Oakland community, business, and non-profit leader Loren Taylor announced his campaign for Oakland City Council District 6 has been endorsed by Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and an array of prominent Oakland leaders.
“I am so honored by this strong showing of support for our campaign to bring new leadership that makes a difference to Oakland City Hall,” said Taylor.
“I’ve known Loren Taylor for years and have seen him make an incredible difference in Oakland through non-profits and business leadership,” said Mayor Libby Schaaf. “We could use more of those skills on the City Council. I’m all in for Loren Taylor.”
Joining Mayor Schaaf in endorsing Taylor’s campaign are Allen Temple Baptist Church Senior Pastor J. Alfred Smith, Jr., former Alameda County Department of Public Health Director Dr. Arnold Perkins, former Oakland City Council President Pat Kernighan, Shiloh Church Senior Pastor Javier Ramos, 100 Black Men of the Bay Area Chairman Muhammad Nadiri, and many others.
These new endorsements for Taylor’s campaign come on the heels of a successful campaign kick-off last week at Lena’s Soul Food that saw a packed room of nearly one hundred supporters.
“Our campaign is building real momentum, and I’m so excited for what’s next,” said Taylor.
